About The Position

The Production Technician sets up, adjusts, and verifies programming for CNC equipment, manual and automated assembly equipment, and auxiliary equipment in the Sprinkler Department. The role works from established programs, drawings, specifications, operational data, and setup instructions to configure tools, fixtures, material clamping methods, machine calibrations, and console settings.

The technician supports production quality and reliability by troubleshooting equipment, making remedial adjustments, conducting preventive maintenance, performing first-piece quality checks, and maintaining accurate records. The position also supports new product launches and continuous improvement efforts, collaborates with Maintenance and Manufacturing Engineering, and helps maintain a clean and safe work area through the Company’s 5S program.

• Ability to read and understand basic pneumatic, mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical schematics.
• Ability to troubleshoot pneumatic, mechanical, hydraulic, and electronic systems.
• Knowledge of hand tools and large-scale machines.
• Solid understanding of mathematics and ability to apply basic algebra and geometry.
• Working knowledge of machines and computers.
• Knowledge of standard safety practices.
• Knowledge of PLC programming and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Perform all work safely and follow applicable rules, procedures, instructions, and personal protective equipment requirements; report unsafe conditions or practices to a supervisor.
• Operate from established programs, drawings, specifications, operational data, and setup instructions for tools, fixtures, material clamping methods, machine calibrations, and console settings.
• Recognize and report programming and operational errors and collaborate with Maintenance and Manufacturing Engineering.
• Support new product launches, including first article, RFP, and RFS production stages.
• Diagnose operating difficulties and make remedial adjustments, including realigning machines, changing tooling, adjusting offsets, recalibrating limits, and repairing minor tooling malfunctions; verify parts after adjustments.
• Establish, schedule, and conduct preventive maintenance functions.
• Recommend tooling applications and operational sequences for practical programming of new, improved, and unusual production requirements.
• Perform first-piece quality checks using precision measurement equipment.
• Maintain records related to machine maintenance, spare parts, purchases, downtime, in-process reject analysis, process history and logs, and setup/changeover checklists.
• Identify continuous improvement opportunities and manage and implement project tasks as appropriate.
• Maintain a clean and safe area and promote the Company’s 5S program.
• Perform other duties as directed.
