1st Shift Production Technician - Wadsworth
About The Position
The Production Technician is responsible for efficiently and responsibly cutting, bagging, and stacking feedstocks into appropriate sizes while minimizing scrap rubber trimmings. This role involves operating guillotine controls, identifying material groups, checking metal detectors, visually inspecting material for contamination, and neatly stacking cut material. The technician will also be responsible for maintaining a clean work area, informing maintenance of equipment issues, and adhering to all safety and environmental regulations. This position requires following PPE procedures, safeguarding company property, and upholding company standards for safety, housekeeping, and conduct.
Requirements
- Regularly required to stand and walk.
- Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms.
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- Must follow Personal protective equipment (PPE) procedures.
- Must safeguard company property.
- Must ensure compliance with all safety and environmental regulations.
- Must maintain company safety, housekeeping and environmental standards.
- Must apply the RMA 7S for Success standards to work area and all tasks.
- Must uphold the RMA Code of Conduct standards.
Nice To Haves
- High School diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Forklift experience/license preferred.
- Prior experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Operate all guillotine controls.
- Cut material to specified sizes/weights and identify groups as outlined on mixing instructions.
- Check the metal detector at the beginning of each shift and after lunch period.
- Visually check all material while cutting and stacking for any contamination.
- Neatly stack cut material appropriately using poly between layers to prevent sticking.
- Stack waste skids according to size and stack cardboard neatly to go to cardboard baler.
- Check to ensure all containers are cleaned before using.
- Check to ensure all old tickets and markings are removed from the containers before using them.
- Assist in the timely and thorough cleanup during changeovers and shutdowns.
- Keep the area and machinery clean.
- Inform Maintenance of any issues or concerns with equipment.
- Notify Team Leader of any problems or concerns.
- Follow Personal protective equipment (PPE) procedures.
- Safeguard company property.
- Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental regulations.
- Maintain company safety, housekeeping and environmental standards.
- Apply the RMA 7S for Success standards to work area and all tasks.
- Uphold the RMA Code of Conduct standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Plant Manager, Quality Manager and Team Leader.
