Working as a member of the team, the Production Technician is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of various manufacturing and distribution processes to meet the company and customer’s expectations for quality and delivery of products. This job can involve working on a variety of processes and therefore is split into three levels for training and job grading purposes. A Production Technician will start as a level one and work up to a level three as described in the following table: Production Technician Job Levels Tasks Level One – Any three tasks in level 1 or 2 but not meeting requirements of level 2 Material preparation processes – Rubber Handrail production – assembly; press operation; preparing splice kits NT production – cleaning tooling; building NTP reels DeFlector brushes – preparing kits Level Two – total of six tasks from Levels 1 & 2 (minimum 3 from Level 2) Material preparation processes – wire slitter; Cameron slitter; Cameron Slitter - Hot Blades; extruder; sub assembly; Rubber Handrail production – splicing; final inspection; rework; mould changes NT production – final inspection; splicing; assisting extruding; Brandrail application; NT regrind EP – produce rollers Level Three – at least Eight tasks from Level 1 & 2 (minimum of 5 from Level 2 and one task from Level 3 Rubber Handrail production – re-splicing NT production – full operation of line DeFlector brushes – bending holders; machining custom parts
