Production Technician - Day Shift

About The Position

This role is responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe operation of production equipment, maintaining food safety standards, and contributing to the overall production schedule. The technician will perform daily equipment inspections, coordinate product components, check date codes, ensure proper packaging seals, and collaborate with Quality Control. They will also troubleshoot equipment issues, manage packer breaks, and communicate effectively with production teams to meet production goals. The position requires a hands-on approach in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and involves learning multiple jobs while maintaining high quality.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Ability to work as part of a team; capable of learning multiple jobs and maintaining a high quality of work.
  • Ability to identify and analyze issues
  • Desire to be a hands-on, on-the-floor-oriented manufacturing team member.
  • Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Computer skills: Proficient with Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Excellent interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

  • Inspect equipment daily to make sure it is clean and sanitary.
  • Coordinates proper flavoring with correct packaging film.
  • Checks date codes for accuracy as instructed.
  • Inspect bag seams making sure seals are strong.
  • Works with Quality Control Operators to ensure standards are good; keep applicable records.
  • Maintains efficient operation of equipment.
  • Troubleshoots and proactively solve potential problems with equipment.
  • Responsible for training and handling packers’ break schedule.
  • Communicates with all production teams to ensure positive flow of production and accomplish goals of the production schedule.
  • Complies with all Plant, State and Federal OSHA, EPA, FDA, HACCP, and SQF regulations.
  • Understands applicable SQF requirements.
