About The Position

MSA Safety is seeking passionate, motivated, and driven individuals to join their team as Production Technicians for their HVAC-R products. The role involves assembling, modifying, and reworking moderately complex products and sub-assemblies, performing tests and minor troubleshooting, visual inspections and repairs, packing products, and maintaining paperwork and computer system inputs. Adherence to safety, housekeeping, and quality standards, as well as maintaining production goals through productivity targets and cost containment, is essential.

Requirements

• Minimum 2-3 months of hands on assembly and manufacturing experience required.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read and understand drawings, work instructions and test procedures.
• Ability to understand standard units of measure.
• Ability to set-up and interpret results of various measuring devices.
• Ability to perform standard software operations including SAP.
• Ability to sometimes lift, carry, push and pull up to 30 pounds without assistance.
• Ability to use power and hand tools, and ability to use custom tooling.
• Regularly perform fine finger and hand activity / steady hand required.
• Ability to effectively communicate with various levels within the organization including training of new associates and temporaries.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to organize and prioritize work.
• Ability to work overtime as required.

Nice To Haves

• Past soldering experience.
• Bacharach HVAC-R product experience.

Responsibilities

• Following predetermined procedures to assemble, modify, and rework moderately complex products and/or sub-assemblies requiring wiring, soldering and connecting.
• Following predetermined test procedures and performing minor troubleshooting at the assembly level to ensure proper operation of the instruments.
• Visual inspection and performing minor repairs.
• Packing products/instruments and accessories according to customer specifications.
• Completing and maintaining relevant paperwork and inputs information in the computer system.
• Adherence to safety, housekeeping and quality standards as they relate to production and the company’s objective is required.
• Maintaining production goals through productivity targets and cost containment by eliminating waste.
