About The Position

The HVAC/R Technician is responsible for the maintenance and repair up to 40 RaceTrac convenience stores in a designated region. This individual is responsible for maintaining Building HVAC, Refrigeration Walk-Ins and reach ins and sealed system repairs on Yogurt Machines, Ice Makers, and Frozen Carbonated Beverage Units. The HVAC/R Technician is also responsible for reporting any maintenance or repair needs found at the location via Service Channel and to their Regional Service Manager. The home store for this position is based at “ 3020 NW 33rd Ave Lauderdale Lakes, FL 33311 ”

Requirements

  • HVAC, HVAC/R skillset desired
  • Universal EPA Certification required
  • Ability to work from 6am through 7pm
  • Good driving record
  • Minimum 1+ year experience as an HVAC technician
  • Ability to read commercial wiring schematics
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds without assistance
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in reading schematics and work plans
  • Ability to use power tools and hand tools
  • Ability to work in confined spaces and outside conditions.
  • Ability to use ladders safely

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years work experience preferred
  • Willingness to continue education in HVAC field

Responsibilities

  • Installing, maintaining, and repairing light commercial roof top units ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration systems and equipment.
  • Perform repairs and installation on HVAC/R equipment and commercial kitchen equipment
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of refrigeration systems, walk in refrigeration/freezer units.
  • Identifying maintenance risks on equipment.
  • Diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults for HVAC systems.
  • Cleaning, adjusting, and repairing systems, and performing warranty services.
  • Performing emergency repairs promptly and efficiently.
  • Providing technical direction and on-the-job training.
  • Keeping daily logs and records of all maintenance functions.
  • Ensuring compliance with appliance standards and with Occupational Health and Safety Act.
  • Complying with service standards, work instructions and customers' requirements.
  • Assisting with customers' queries.
  • Resolve maintenance and service issues at the RaceTrac Store Support Center to ensure full operability with all SSC equipment
  • Ensure each job is performed at a high level of skill and with optimal customer service.
  • Provide project support to cross-functional departments in various initiatives related to the SSC.
  • Respond to additional ad hoc maintenance requests communicated from each department, as needed.
  • Conduct routine inspection of facilities to identify and repair deficiencies.
  • Conduct routine audits of all 3rd party services.
  • Manage and prioritize work order requests.
