About The Position

The Production Technician will join AV’s Titan C-UAS engineering team in San Diego, contributing to the testing, troubleshooting, tracking, and final kitting of Titan systems and related subassemblies. Working alongside other production technicians, repair technicians, and electrical and mechanical engineers, the successful candidate will develop skills across hardware validation, troubleshooting, and manufacturing support in a fast-paced defense-product environment.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or technical certification in Electrical Engineering Technology, Electronics, or related field or equivalent hands-on experience
  • 2+ years of hands-on electronics assembly, test, or technician experience in a production or lab environment
  • Familiarity with basic bench test equipment operation (multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to interpret datasheets and component specifications
  • Basic understanding of AC/DC circuits, electrical theory, and test methodologies
  • Must have good manual dexterity and basic computer operation skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint)
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to workmanship quality
  • Must be willing to work on government contracts and have the ability to obtain a security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation
  • Experience working in a defense, aerospace, or other IPC/AS9100-regulated manufacturing environment
  • Familiarity with RF test equipment: spectrum analyzers, VNAs, signal generators
  • Familiarity with RF connector types and proper RF assembly handling (SMA, SMPM, SMP, U.FL/MHF)
  • Able to excel in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, where small teams share a broad variety of duties

Responsibilities

  • Operate automated systems to configure and validate electronic subassemblies and final product assemblies
  • Perform visual inspection of incoming production materials to ensure they meet quality standards
  • Record test data accurately in traveler documents, spreadsheets, and MES/ERP systems; flag out-of-tolerance results to engineering
  • Perform final inspection and kitting of outgoing customer materials
  • Maintain and verify calibration status of test equipment and fixtures
  • Follow work order protocols and complete associated paperwork as work is performed
  • Follow ESD, safety, and quality standards in compliance with AeroVironment and regulatory requirements
  • Document test results, identify anomalies, and work with senior engineers to root-cause hardware failures
  • Utilize tools like Microsoft Excel and ERP systems to track production materials as they are processed
  • Assess and provide estimated timelines for completion of key tasks such as part testing and kitting of product
  • Generate and provide reports for tested materials
  • Assist engineers with hardware bring-up, debug, and functional verification activities at the bench
  • Document observed anomalies, rework actions, and nonconforming material dispositions clearly and completely
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, and manufacturing teams to resolve issues and improve test processes
