Production Technician II
About The Position
The Production Technician II completes daily manufacturing production requirements efficiently while maintaining the highest quality. The role prepares initial protein extracts and buffers according to standard operating and quality procedures, and cleans and maintains equipment in accordance with company procedures. It also takes on additional responsibilities as directed, including training Level I Technicians, planning and executing procedures, ordering supplies, and leading teams on preparations. The position supports the manufacturing team with other assigned duties and follows all safety protocols.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience at Medix Biochemica USA, Inc., or equivalent experience with protein purification.
- Be self-motivated and hardworking, and willing to put in extra effort beyond the basic requirements of the role.
- High school diploma or GED, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to apply common-sense understanding to written, oral, or diagrammed instructions and address problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; communicate verbally with team members and coworkers; and write and record simple notes and figures.
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic with whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; compute rates, ratios, and percentages; and draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Ability to use general laboratory equipment as directed and trained.
Nice To Haves
- Industrial chemical processing and safety training or experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Prepare initial protein extracts according to standard operating and quality procedures.
- Lift and carry production equipment and materials throughout work areas.
- Prepare buffers according to standard operating and quality procedures.
- Clean and maintain equipment in accordance with company procedures.
- Train Level I Technicians as assigned.
- Plan and execute procedures as assigned.
- Order needed supplies as assigned.
- Lead teams on preparations as directed by a Supervisor or Manager.
- Perform other duties as needed, including general cleaning and tasks that support the manufacturing team.
- Follow all safety protocols.
