About The Position

The Production Technician – Gummies is a cross-trained role responsible for operating, monitoring, and troubleshooting all key systems across the gummy production line. This role combines hands-on equipment operation with automation skills to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant manufacturing. The Technician plays a key part in maintaining product quality, supporting continuous operations, and upholding cGMP and safety standards.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience with programmable logic controls (PLC), HMIs, automated production, or robotics.
  • Hands-on experience with equipment changeovers and troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency in operating production equipment such as mixers, extruders, dryers, and depositors.
  • Familiarity with digital moisture meters, viscosity testers, Brix meters, and other quality control instruments.
  • Strong computer skills, including ERP/MRP transactions, data entry, and production system monitoring.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents, SOPs, and batch records.
  • Mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for complex equipment.
  • Ability to perform precise measurements, weight calculations, and ratio adjustments for batch processing.
  • Competence in interpreting data, charts, and test results to make real-time production adjustments.
  • Safety-first mindset when working with robotics and automated equipment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods in a manufacturing environment.

  • Prior experience in a cGMP- or FDA-regulated manufacturing environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Transport mixed materials to the mezzanine using elevator equipment.
  • Pour mixtures into designated processing tanks.
  • Set up and monitor automated weighing systems to ensure accurate measurement and verification of mixed materials.
  • Operate extrusion equipment to process materials into gummy form.
  • Monitor buffer storage areas and maintain proper material flow.
  • Operate and monitor automated systems via HMI screens to control flow and ensure continuous performance.
  • Monitor defoaming and depositing processes; adjust depositor settings as needed to maintain product quality and consistency.
  • Maintain warmer equipment temperatures to prevent material hardening.
  • Use moisture meters and Brix meters to test product attributes, ensuring formulation accuracy and compliance with quality standards.
  • Monitor curing and drying station parameters for proper operation.
  • Oversee robotic operations, troubleshooting and intervening as needed to resolve performance issues.
  • Remove gummies from trays exiting dryers, ensuring proper handling and transfer to containers.
  • Perform in-process cleanups as needed and ensure thorough cleaning at shutdown.
  • Accurately complete batch records, logs, and related documentation in compliance with cGMP, FDA, and company SOPs.
  • Consistently follow all safety requirements, including PPE, lockout/tagout, and hazard communication.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and compliant work environment.
  • Support other assignments and cross-trained tasks as directed by management.
  • Poses no direct threat to the health or safety of himself/herself, of others, or to property. Defined as a significant risk of substantial harm that cannot be eliminated or reduced to an acceptable level by reasonable accommodation.
  • Requires regular attendance to perform essential elements as contained herein between the assigned start and end times for work.
