About The Position

Sets up and operates automatic or semi-automatic machines and related equipment in a continuous production/processing operation. Monitors meters, gauges, valves, flow ratios, temperatures, pressures, and related controls and guidelines to ensure adherence to production/process specifications. Reports any malfunctions or abnormalities and makes minor adjustments and repairs to equipment. Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures. Requires full proficiency in a range of technical processes or procedures through job-related training and considerable on-the-job experience. Completes a variety of atypical assignments. Works within defined technical processes and procedures or methodologies and may help determine the appropriate approach for new assignments. Works with a limited degree of supervision, with oversight focused only on complex new assignments. Acts as an informal resource for colleagues with less experience. Performs manual tasks according to established procedures.

Requirements

• Vocational/Technical Training Degree and 5-7 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience

Responsibilities

• Sets up and operates production equipment to manufacture, process, and assemble various commercial products and substances.
• Uses product specifications, blueprints, diagrams, and standard operating procedures (SOP) to produce products.
• Monitors output for quality and conformance to required metrics.
• Prepares and maintains required records of production activities and reports any inconsistencies or equipment issues.
• Follows established guidelines for safe material handling and protective gear.
• Studies and records time, motion, methods, and speed to improve efficiency.
• Establishes a standard production rate in performance of maintenance, production, clerical, and other worker operations.
• Troubleshoots issues related to manufacturing operations and industrial layout.
