Kadant GranTek was established in 1989 to manufacture products that reduce the amount of waste from paper mills to landfill. Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to work rotating 12-hour shifts and work overtime as needed
  • Ability to work in elevated areas
  • Ability to work in all-weather environments, including temperature extremes and dust
  • Works well with others
  • Self-motivated
  • Ability to balance the daily workload and complete work in a timely manner
  • Basic computer knowledge
  • Basic mechanical skills, particularity in the use of common hand and power tools
  • Willingness to complete instruction and training in the use of plant rolling stock
  • Ability to work independently with little direct supervision
  • Willingness to learn new skills and accept challenges
  • Occasionally lifting objects of up to 50 pounds
  • Periodic exposure to awkward or cramped working positions and vibrating equipment
  • Exposure to the potential hazards often found in a manufacturing environment

  • A technical degree or technical training is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Operate, monitor, and adjust process equipment in an effective and safe manner
  • Follow proper safety procedures
  • Operate computer/production screens
  • Perform process checks to ensure that the process is running efficiently
  • Perform problem solving as necessary when equipment malfunctions
  • Complete required documentation for equipment logs and process settings
  • Produce quality product that meet specifications
  • Perform all required quality testing
  • Complete required documentation of quality performance
  • Identify non-conforming product and follow proper procedure to recycle/dispose of such product
  • Complete production order requirements
  • Operate powered industrial equipment (forklift, front end loader, ariel lift, etc.) to move raw material and finished product
  • Load bulk trucks and railcars per customer orders
  • Complete required documentation of shipment information
  • Perform routine cleaning of the production facility and equipment
