About The Position

Production Team Members perform general duties in a food-manufacturing environment while meeting strict product standards. Work may include arranging bacon, pressing pork bellies, hand packing on an assembly line, stacking finished cases, and rotating between work assignments. The position is at the Coshocton, Ohio plant, which has more than 600 employees and is a union facility. The facility is the only Oscar Mayer bacon plant. New hires should expect initial training primarily during the week before bidding to or being placed into a home position. The role requires the ability to work weekends, the weekend shift, and the second shift, which has an afternoon start time. Starting wage is $21.87 per hour, with timed pay increases. Paid time off is provided according to the contractual agreement. Employees are responsible for following safety, quality, personal protective equipment (PPE), and good manufacturing practices (GMP), as well as contributing to the ongoing implementation and improvement of the Quality Risk Management Process (QRMP).

Requirements

Three years of manufacturing experience required, including six months of relevant experience within the last 12 months.
Ability to stand for the duration of the shift, excluding designated break times.
Ability to work in refrigerated temperatures for the duration of the shift, excluding designated break times.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to work full-time and overtime.
Ability to work weekends and the second shift, which has an afternoon start time.
Proficiency in developing technologies.

Responsibilities

Perform all pre-operational safety inspections.
Ensure guards are in place at the work station.
Follow all Quality Production Specifications while performing the job.
Follow PPE and GMP requirements to ensure proper product cleanliness.
Use practices consistent with the highest possible quality and yield results.
Take single drafts of Oscar Mayer bacon and arrange them correctly onto product cards.
Place bacon drafts correctly, carefully, and promptly onto the lug conveyor or table, filling all available holes.
Downgrade drafts that do not meet Oscar Mayer quality standards to the proper grade.
Work as a team and assist other arrangers on the line as needed.
Keep the work area clean, including sweeping floors; emptying white tubs into v-mags; clearing packages from the green tub; emptying trash cans; and emptying red tubs into yellow barrels.
Assist with rejects while assigned to the extra position or during line downtime.
Perform additional duties as directed by supervision.
Contribute to implementation, ongoing maintenance, and continuous improvement of the Quality Risk Management Process (QRMP) at the Coshocton facility.
