About The Position

The Production Team Leader oversees retail production and donation functions, inventory control, and adherence to agency procedures and core values. The role leads the production team, maintains production levels and merchandise quality for the sales floor, supports customer service to donors, and helps ensure store safety and security. The position supervises donation attendants, processors, and sales associates and assists with staffing, recordkeeping, attendance monitoring, hiring, training, and performance processes.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent and at least 6 months of supervisory experience; successful completion of Goodwill’s Aspiring Manager and Employ Excellence Programs may substitute for this requirement.
Excellent customer service skills.
Basic computer skills.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Ability to perform basic math.
Ability to read and comprehend internal documents related to store operations.
Ability to continuously walk, stoop, stand, bend, kneel, and climb for prolonged periods, up to 7 hours per 8-hour shift.
Ability to frequently lift between 40 and 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience working in a warehouse environment.
Previous experience in transportation production.

Fluency in English and Spanish.

Responsibilities

Monitor and ensure a smooth production process for donation functions and inventory control, and ensure adherence to agency production procedures and the core value pledge.
Perform production staff duties as needed, including greeting donors, providing customer service, safely unloading donations, completing donor receipts, and sorting and processing donated items into designated categories.
Maintain production levels and the quality of merchandise sent to the sales floor.
Assist with enforcing store safety and security procedures.
Assist in settling complaints.
Provide input for associate interviews and performance evaluations.
Maintain a professional appearance in accordance with Goodwill uniform standards.
Assist with maintaining proper staffing in relation to budgets.
Assist the Assistant Production Manager with accurately recording department work.
Assist with monitoring the time and attendance system.
Assist with interviews, training, and instructing workers to develop their full working potential.
Assist in developing efficient and effective methods and procedures for work simplification and material processing.
Perform other duties as directed and required.
Supervise retail staff, including donation attendants, processors, and sales associates.
