About The Position

This position is responsible for the manufacturing of innovative infection prevention products in a production or clean room environment following all applicable policies, processes and procedures. The role involves managing continuous improvement systems, coordinating audits, analyzing data, and facilitating Kaizen events. The team lead will also cross-train and master processes, assist team members with problem-solving, and proactively improve production processes. They will maintain lot traceability, verify batch records, and interact with electronic systems. Additionally, this role supports the training strategy, acts as a coach/mentor, and assists the supervisor by overseeing the schedule, coordinating staffing, and owning schedule attainment. The lead will also manage raw materials, oversee product and information flow, perform time studies, and provide work direction to production associates in the supervisor's absence. They will run daily management meetings, escalate production issues, lead by example, reinforce accountability, and collaborate with others to achieve operational goals. Input on personnel needs and performance reviews will also be provided to the supervisor. Ensuring safety and proper reporting of injuries are key responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Highschool diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
  • 5 (five) years of work experience in an operations/production environment.
  • Experience performing time studies, using line balancing tools and managing adherence to standard work.
  • Ability to read, understand, and carry out written and verbal instructions on performing the job as well as safety procedures.
  • Fully aware of the quality of own work and that of others around you.
  • Works with energy, passion, and drives towards goals with professionalism and respect; operates in a way that creates an atmosphere of achievement.
  • Adheres to all company and departmental safety policies and guidelines.
  • Perform daily job duties in a safe manner and keeps their work area clean and organized at all times.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in chemical manufacturing or a chemical environment.
  • Professional leadership experience in a related field.
  • Previous work expereince using SAP or similar systems.
  • Experience operating forklifts and other P.I.T. equipment.
  • Familiarity with reading and reviewing batch records and conducting quality reviews.
  • Experience working on diverse teams.
  • Safety Team or Committee experience.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the continuous improvement system and coaches/mentors other employees on the use of the system.
  • Coordinate 6S audits and leads the follow-up on the identified improvement opportunities.
  • Assemble paretos from the data gathered through the Daily Management Meetings and leads/facilitates small Kaizen events targeted at improving the highlighted opportunities.
  • Cross train and master most, if not all, processes in the area.
  • Ability to step in to most positions to fill in for an absent member of the team.
  • Apply problem solving tools to assist other team members in trouble shooting and finding solutions to resolve problems that occur during the manufacturing process.
  • Work proactively to improve production processes and procedures and can facilitate updates through the change order process.
  • Maintain lot traceability, line clearance and verifies batch records to ensure they are correct.
  • Interact proficiently with most or all electronic systems used in operations.
  • Support and/or maintains the training strategy for their area.
  • Master the training methodology and can step in as needed to support training.
  • Acts as a coach/mentor for other team members that are learning how to train.
  • Support the supervisor by overseeing the schedule, coordinating staffing and owning schedule attainment.
  • Oversee raw materials and production supplies and works with the materials department to investigate discrepancies and make the necessary adjustments.
  • Responsible for product and information flow throughout the cell/line, understands how to manage the constraint.
  • Perform time studies, using line balancing tools and managing adherence to standard work.
  • Provide work direction to production associates in the absence of a supervisor.
  • Runs the daily management meeting and understands when/how to escalate production impacting events.
  • Lead by example, reinforces accountability and is comfortable with conflict resolution.
  • Support the supervisor by providing input on personnel needs, for example, staffing requirements and overtime.
  • Provide input to supervisor on individual performance reviews
  • Ensure all employees are working safely and is responsible for entering First Report of Injury along with supporting the corrective actions.
  • Willingly and proactively collaborates with others to achieve operational goals.
