About The Position

The Production Team Lead oversees daily operations within the aluminum manufacturing area, ensuring production goals are met safely, efficiently, and with high-quality outcomes. This role is responsible for coordinating team activities, monitoring workflows, supporting continuous improvement efforts, and maintaining a safe, accident-free work environment. The Production Lead serves as the primary contact for operations within the department and helps train, motivate, and guide team members to achieve optimal performance.

Requirements

3+ years of manufacturing experience, preferably in aluminum, metals, or industrial production.
Proven leadership or lead-operator experience.
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment operation, and workflow management.
Ability to train, motivate, and guide employees in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Working knowledge of safety standards and quality practices.

Nice To Haves

Preferred experience with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement techniques.
Preferred forklift or material handling certification.
Preferred experience with ERP, CSI/Infor manufacturing management systems.

Responsibilities

Lead, coach, and support production team members to ensure consistent performance, engagement, and accountability.
Model company values by fostering a culture of respect, open communication, and teamwork.
Provide hands-on training for new employees and ongoing skill development for existing team members.
Assign daily tasks, provide direction, and adjust staffing as needed to meet production requirements.
Oversee the manufacturing process for components, ensuring workflow efficiency and alignment with production schedules.
Monitor equipment, machinery, and tools, and report issues promptly to minimize downtime.
Ensure accurate packing, labeling, and movement of all materials and assemblies.
Coordinate with maintenance, quality, engineering, and logistics to keep operations on track and on time.
Ensure products meet quality standards and specifications through daily checks and adherence to procedures.
Identify opportunities to improve processes, reduce waste, and increase productivity.
Support implementation of lean practices and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
Ensure documentation, logs, and reports are completed accurately and timely.
Promote and enforce a zero-accident safety culture by following all safety policies and ensuring team compliance.
Conduct daily safety checks, support incident investigations, and recommend corrective actions.
Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment.
Ensure compliance with company policies, OSHA standards, and industry regulations.
