About The Position

Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is seeking a Production System Specialist to join the Propulsion Systems Division team across Everett and Kent, Washington on 1st shift. This is a floating, cross-site resource for the division: an analyst and project lead who measures whether improvements are holding and leads larger improvement projects across our sites.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in aerospace manufacturing.
  • 3+ years collecting and analyzing process and performance data.
  • 3+ years managing or leading improvement / process-improvement projects.
  • 3+ years using Lean Manufacturing and/or continuous-improvement practices and tools in the workplace.
  • 3+ years working with cross-functional teams.
  • 3+ years using Microsoft Office tools (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • 1+ years leading teams in a formal and/or informal leadership role.
  • Must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Responsibilities

  • Owns cross-site measurement and analytics: builds and runs the metrics that show whether improvements are holding across the division’s sites, feeding the team’s Oobeya (command-center) reviews.
  • Runs data analysis to size opportunities and validate results.
  • Runs data analytics on Line-Side Control Center (LSCC) effectiveness and uses it to point the team’s improvement work where it matters most.
  • Leads problem-solving (including BPSM) and manages larger cross-area improvement projects end to end; bench strength for the bigger initiatives.
  • Manage a portfolio of improvement work – prioritizing and sequencing across multiple initiatives and sites to put capacity where it returns the most.
  • Enable site 5S as a sustained standard – coordinating initiatives and logistics, and building the measures that keep it holding – so manufacturing owns the work and sees its value.
  • Deploy, implement, and sustain Boeing Production System standards across the division – making the principles operational as standard work that holds, not a one-time rollout.
  • Works with organizations to develop strategies, plans, and metrics to achieve business objectives.
  • Conducts assessments of processes and practices for comparison to applicable standards and criteria.
  • Analyzes and interprets data; provides feedback on assessment results and identifies opportunities for improvement and areas of risk.
  • Leads complex group work sessions selecting and using advanced Lean principles, processes, and tools to implement the Boeing Production System for internal or external customers.
  • Works at the appropriate level in the organization to implement strategies and plans; works under minimal direction.
  • Provides flexible additional capacity across the division as priorities shift.
