The Production Support Technician will be responsible for industrialization and emerging manufacturing, including participating in new product design reviews to provide recommendations for manufacturing and service. In new product introduction (NPI) projects, they will analyze the causes of manufacturing failures (FC) and calculate the first-pass yield during production progression. They will also commission test benches in the emerging manufacturing cell (PC assembly, configuration, and software installation) and provide technical support to production technicians in the emerging cell during device debugging. A key part of the role involves maintaining a log of root causes, including severity assessment and resolution plans, and preparing and communicating analysis reports to relevant teams (R&D, iTest, or industrial engineering) for cases requiring further investigation. For inter-plant production transfers, the technician will audit the necessary elements for manufacturing and repairing new products at various EXFO sites. They will also develop training materials and train technicians, assemblers, and other EXFO resources through remote or in-person transfers. In terms of corporate support, the technician will conduct in-depth analysis of production issues at EXFO production sites, identifying root causes in collaboration with R&D and Product Line Specialists (PSL). They will also troubleshoot product test benches and work within a tiered problem-solving environment.
