About The Position

The Production Support Supervisor is responsible for overseeing production support operations to ensure materials, processes, and workflows are properly executed to support efficient and accurate production. This role supervises personnel, coordinates daily activities, and ensures compliance with company standards, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements. The supervisor promotes quality, safety, and continuous improvement while supporting on-time production performance.

Requirements

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in a technical, scientific, or related field preferred
  • 3–6 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment
  • Minimum of 2 years of supervisory or team leadership experience
  • Experience in a GMP-regulated environment required
  • Experience working in production support, packaging, or chemical/ink manufacturing environments preferred, including hands-on experience with light machinery, labeling, filling, and packaging operations
  • Strong knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Experience supporting internal and external audits, inspections, and documentation requirements
  • Working knowledge of quality systems, including deviation investigation and corrective and preventive actions
  • Ability to ensure accurate batch documentation, traceability, and compliance with customer specifications
  • Experience with ERP systems required (Process Pro or Global preferred)
  • Ability to analyze operational data, identify issues, and implement corrective actions
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
  • Ability to lead, coach, and develop production support personnel
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills across departments
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet production schedules
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making capability
  • Self-directed, organized, and accountable
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting throughout the workday
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
  • Ability to lift or move heavier materials (up to 75 lbs) with assistance or mechanical equipment
  • Ability to push, pull, and maneuver pallets, drums, and material containers using appropriate equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, drum handlers)
  • Exposure to typical production/warehouse conditions, including heat, cold, noise, dust, and fumes
  • Visual abilities include close vision, distance vision, and depth perception

Responsibilities

  • Lead and maintain an “on floor” presence for the Production Support team.
  • Set priorities, assign work, and monitor daily workflow.
  • Train, mentor, and evaluate employees; identify and address training needs.
  • Conduct performance reviews and provide feedback.
  • Interpret company policies and enforce safety and compliance standards.
  • Oversee label creation, cartridge/container preparation, filling, labeling, and packaging.
  • Ensure support materials meet customer specifications and quality standards.
  • Review batch tickets and troubleshoot discrepancies in finished products.
  • Coordinate activities to ensure production schedules and output targets are met.
  • Ensure adherence to GMP, safety policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor processes to ensure accurate, high-quality production output.
  • Oversee team compliance with operational and safety procedures.
  • Support quality investigations and corrective actions as needed.
  • Identify and resolve production issues related to scheduling, staffing, equipment, or quality.
  • Collaborate with production, quality, and other departments to resolve operational challenges.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives aligned with company standards.
  • Attend all required meetings and training sessions.
  • Maintain adherence to “The Kao Way” values and standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
