About The Position

The Production Support/Material Handler reports directly to the Manufacturing Manager. Production Support coordinates initial issuing of material for Setup personnel is at the machine prior to tool change. Ensure all raw material, component, packaging, and finished goods are scanned to proper locations. Material systems and equipment are kept in clean and in good working order at all times. Maintain a clean and neat work area with safety in mind.

Responsibilities

  • Must be able to use the forklift and obtain a valid forklift license through required training.
  • Must perform daily checks on forklifts and complete required form.
  • Maintain material(s), components and packaging supplies for all machines and assemblies as required per PLEX jobs.
  • Blend resins, concentrates, and additives as needed for production requirements from PLEX.
  • Move material from the warehouse location to machine, making sure the material listed on PLEX jobs match the material staged to being loaded.
  • Move finished goods from the airlock and/or machine to the Final Audit area or designated area in the warehouse within a timely basis.
  • Make master labels for finished goods and WIP when moving from production to final audit or designated area in the warehouse.
  • All materials, components, packaging and finished goods must be properly scanned to correct location during movement.
  • Weigh up/count material, components, and packaging, print new label from PLEX with correct quantity and return to the appropriate warehouse location.
  • Unload material from hoppers, loaders, and dryers and ensure material system is clean for next production job.
  • Maintains grinders, hoppers, loaders, material hoses, filters, etc. are kept in good working condition.
  • Must complete proper Line Clearance documentation, including review of PLEX inventory located at the work centers.
  • Inventory must be removed physically and in PLEX from the work center in order to approve line clearance for new job/tool.
  • Load new job into the work center at the time of scanning and physically loading new materials into the control panel.
  • Must follow FIFO protocol when pulling materials for use on jobs.
  • Assist production and warehouse with cycle counts as needed.
  • At times, loading of material prior to tool change may be required due to dry time or scheduling needs.
  • Must be trained on PLEX to view jobs and issue materials accordingly.
  • Reconciliation of material usage as well as well as ensuring correct serial numbers are scanned and being used at the work center.
  • Weigh scrap, label and move to designated area for resale and place recyclable items in proper storage areas.
  • Must always follow current Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Perform other duties as requested.
