About The Position

We are seeking an L1 / L1+ Production Support Engineer to join the Equities Support organization of a global banking client. This team operates in a follow-the-sun support model and provides operational support for pricing, risk, and market data platforms used by trading and risk teams across APAC markets, with a strong focus on Hong Kong operations. This role combines application support, incident management, monitoring, troubleshooting, and light automation/development work. The ideal candidate is analytical, technically curious, and comfortable working in fast-paced, high-pressure financial environments.

Requirements

  • 2–5 years of experience in Application Support, Production Support, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or Backend Engineering
  • Good understanding of Java-based applications and backend systems
  • Experience working in Linux/Unix environments
  • Strong SQL skills and ability to investigate data-related issues
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as: Splunk, Grafana, Kibana, ELK Stack
  • Understanding of distributed systems and APIs
  • Familiarity with: Kafka or messaging systems, REST APIs, CI/CD pipelines, Git
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical abilities
  • Excellent English communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and support Equities and Risk applications in production environments
  • Perform first-line investigation and triage of incidents, alerts, and batch failures
  • Support overnight and morning risk/pricing computations for trading desks
  • Analyze logs, workflows, and data flows to identify root causes
  • Escalate complex issues to L2/L3 teams with appropriate analysis and context
  • Execute operational procedures and support business-critical daily processes
  • Support Airflow workflows and scheduling pipelines
  • Validate market and risk data availability and integrity
  • Collaborate with traders, developers, and support teams across multiple regions
  • Participate in production deployments and release validations
  • Contribute to automation, monitoring, and operational improvement initiatives
  • Create and maintain operational documentation and runbooks
