About The Position

A Production Support Coordinator provides administrative, logistical, and operational support to the production department in a chemical manufacturing facility. This role ensures production activities are properly documented, materials are available, records are accurate, and communication flows smoothly between Production, Quality, Maintenance, Procurement, and Warehouse teams. To be successful in the role, a Production Support Coordinator needs to safety-focused, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast paced, process-driven environment. Located at our Florence, Kentucky site, this role reports to the Procurement Manager.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • At least 1 year of manufacturing, production support, warehouse, or administrative experience.
  • Basic computer skills, including MS Excel and familiarity with data entry.
  • Ability to learn SAP or similar systems.
  • Follow all safety requirements including wearing the appropriate PPE (contact lenses prohibited on the production floor)
  • Stands and walks the production floor for prolonged periods of time
  • Performs repetitive bending and stretching throughout the shift

Nice To Haves

  • Coursework in supply chain, industrial technology, business, or chemistry.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing purchased labels for production lines based on schedule and BOMs provided.
  • Documenting quantities staged for process orders.
  • Confirming correct material and quantity is staged in SAP.
  • Reporting inconsistencies with physical verification and SAP reports.
  • Create and print product labels, batch labels, drum/IBC labels, hazard labels, and internal tracking labels according to product specifications.
  • Ensure all printed labels comply with up to date artwork provided.
  • Verify label accuracy (batch numbers, expiration dates, product codes, barcode quality, regulatory symbols, etc.).
  • Distribute labels to operators and staging areas ahead of production runs.
  • Maintain label templates, printers, and label supplies; report issues or discrepancies immediately.
  • Record production-related data including: material movements, label verification info, reconciliation of SAP inventory vs. Physical counts, etc.)
  • Assist in troubleshooting basic SAP errors or escalate to appropriate support teams.
  • Confirm label availability for upcoming batches through SAP, Inventory, and Procurement.
  • Assist Warehouse and Production in staging labels.
  • Identify shortages or discrepancies and communicate them promptly.
  • Support cycle counts and material usage reconciliation.
  • Support proper documentation of quality checks and lot traceability.
  • Assist in maintaining compliance with chemical industry safety regulations and plant standards.
  • Report safety or housekeeping issues immediately.
  • Provide daily updates to Production Planners.
  • Assist with coordination of scrap reconciliations during changeovers, cleanouts, or batch transitions.
