About The Position

This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities. We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. As a Production Support Associated in our development group, you will immersed in a rapid and dynamic development environment, with a high focus on machining and prototypes.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, Accredited GED or equivalent vocational certifications or training
  • 4+ year of Inventory Control, Tool Crib and/or Material Handling Experience.
  • Experience with Materials Requirement Planning (MRP) or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, and/or inventory control applications.
  • Experience working within a cross functional team.
  • Demonstrated understanding and can apply continuous improvement concepts.
  • Ability to safely drive a forklift and perform acute work.
  • Ability to lift 50lbs, unassisted.
  • Ability to earn trust and maintain positive professional relationships
  • Strong computer skills, familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Must wear appropriate personal protective equipment as necessary.
  • Flexible to work varied shifts, overtime, weekends, and travel on occasion.
  • Must be able to pass DBIDS background check.
  • Role will be on a military installation.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Responsibilities

  • Requisitioning, receiving, storing, and issuing inventory, tooling, consumables and other assets to technicians and operators.
  • Support machining teams through coolant & chip management, work-holding maintenance, setup and break down.
  • Continuously monitor and respond to technician parts needs, including replacements for non-conforming parts, delivery of fasteners and shop stock, moving assemblies to inventory or to the next work center, and other similar duties as requested.
  • Enter material transactions in ERP system.
  • Work cross functionally to expedite any material shortages.
  • Process Scrap and obsolete inventory from WIP locations as required.
  • Prepare for, conduct, and assist in reconciliation of cycle counts.
  • Maintain clean and safe work areas following company policies and industry best practices (5S).
  • Must be able to work well with others, take direction and execute swiftly, be mindful of process improvement opportunities, and be able to problem solve.
  • Identify, catalog, and report manufacturing delays, sources, and resolutions needed to Operations Supervisors and Managers
  • Operate various equipment in support of daily operations. This includes but not limited to forklifts, pallet jacks, hoists, lift tables etc. to ensure safe hardware handling operations.
  • Assist in the implementation of a robust materials management process that reflects best practices, to include material purchasing, handling, storage, control, and distribution of MRO inventory.
  • Monitor the flow/velocity of jobs through the production line and partner with Fabrication Control to ensure work completes on time to schedule.
  • Identify, catalog, and report manufacturing delays, sources, and resolutions needed to Operations Supervisors and Managers
  • Aggressively enforce safe material handling practices
  • Work directly with leadership to support process development and other initiatives.
