About The Position

At Verdant Specialty Solutions, the Production Supervisor leads day-to-day plant operations for an assigned shift, managing a team of operators while ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality production. This is a hands-on leadership role where success is measured by presence on the floor, ability to develop the team, and effective execution of the production plan. The role is highly visible, impacting safety, quality, and output, and is critical for maintaining shift-to-shift continuity and success.   • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum 5 years of manufacturing experience
  • Ability to troubleshoot plant issues using practical technical knowledge
  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn new systems
  • Ability to work a 12-hour rotating shift including nights and weekends

Nice To Haves

  • Technical degree preferred (2–4 year), or equivalent experience
  • Chemical industry and/or supervisory experience strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Direct daily production activities for an assigned shift
  • Ensure compliance with HSSE policies, procedures, and permit systems
  • Reinforce safe behaviors and intervene when standards are not met
  • Ensure production tasks meet quality and operational standards
  • Set clear expectations for performance and behavior
  • Hold team members accountable through coaching and corrective action
  • Assess employee skills through observation and engagement
  • Develop team capability through training and real-time coaching
  • Communicate and drive execution of the daily production plan
  • Engage operators for feedback and continuous improvement ideas
  • Ensure proper documentation in inventory and production systems
  • Prepare incoming shifts for success through clear communication
  • Ensure effective shift handoffs and information transfer
  • Maintain strong housekeeping and adherence to standard work practices
  • Issue work permits and coordinate maintenance activities
  • Enter work notifications as required
  • Serve as Emergency Coordinator during off-shifts
