About The Position

The Production Supervisor is responsible for planning and scheduling shift rosters to meet production needs, including coverage for vacations and absences. This role involves reviewing and approving employee hours and time-off requests, supervising daily blow molding operations, and ensuring production targets are met. The supervisor will lead, coach, and develop a team of 12–20 employees across the 2nd shift. Key responsibilities include monitoring machine performance, troubleshooting issues, coordinating with Maintenance to reduce downtime, and enforcing safety procedures through audits and incident investigations. The role also requires ensuring compliance with quality standards, supporting continuous improvement initiatives (5S, Lean, etc.), managing labor and material usage for cost control and waste reduction, and maintaining accurate production records. Additionally, the supervisor will support onboarding, training, and performance evaluations for production staff, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to support plant-wide goals.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment required
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Strong understanding of material flow, tooling, and job changeovers
  • Hands-on knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, drives, and industrial controls
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate teams in a high-volume environment
  • Familiarity with safety regulations, lean manufacturing, and quality systems
  • Strong communication, decision-making, and conflict-resolution skill
  • Excellent problem-solving and organizational abilities
  • Proficiency with production tracking software, Microsoft Office, and ERP systems (SAP, Epicor, etc.)
  • Ability to build a positive, high-performing team culture
