About The Position

The Production Supervisor leads the shift team to ensure a safe work environment, maintain food safety and quality standards, and meet productivity goals. This role is responsible for overseeing operations, driving continuous improvement initiatives, supporting the development of team members’ skills and capabilities, proactively addressing production issues, and ensuring production schedules and key performance indicators (KPIs) are consistently met. This position works a 2/2/3 rotation, 4pm to 4am.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Completion of associate’s degree within an established timeline after hire is required.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience leading a team in a manufacturing environment or as a Supervisor in Food Manufacturing, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Associates of Arts Degree (A.A) in Supervisory Management or related field preferred.
  • Experience in cheese making and whey processing is highly desired.

Responsibilities

  • Leads shift operations to ensure personal safety, food safety, product quality, and productivity standards are consistently met.
  • Directs and supports team members to follow standardized work and company policies, including Safety, Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
  • Provides guidance and support to maintain accountability and effective communication within the team.
  • Fosters team cohesion, resolve conflicts, and motivate team members to achieve goals.
  • Drives initiatives that improve safety, quality, efficiency, and cost performance.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional leaders to ensure safety, quality, and productivity standards and activities are delivering expected results, including the commercialization of new products, manufacturing processes, and audit readiness.
  • Ensures accurate inventory handling and material flow and recommends improvements in supply chain and inventory processes.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves operational issues through observation, coaching, training, and procedural updates.
  • Communicates process or policy changes to team members in a timely and effective manner.
  • Evaluates, coaches, and develops Team Members’ behaviors, knowledge and performance.
  • Serves as the primary contact for food safety or quality concerns, escalating issues as needed.
  • Maintains compliance with Safe Quality Food (SQF) audit requirements and ensures ongoing food safety and quality across operations.
  • The Plant Manager position serves as the backup to ensure the integrity of the SQF System.
