Job Summary : This position is responsible for providing leadership in manufacturing excellence, ensuring customer satisfaction and continuous improvement of responsible areas’ performance measurements (quality, productivity, cycle time, delivery, and cash flow). Supervises and coordinates activities of team leaders and workers engaged in production. Establishes and coordinates departmental activities to meet objectives to coincide with plant goals and business metrics.

Requirements

  • High School diploma/G.E.D.
  • Three-years related manufacturing experience in a leadership role.
  • Employee must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Follow all Howmet safety regulations, work rules and all departmental specific requirements.
  • Record data either manually or by computer as required.
  • Examine castings and products at various stages of processing procedures for conformance to both internal and external specifications.
  • Observe machines and equipment for malfunction and orders adjustments or repairs and directs workers to make adjustments or repairs.
  • Study production schedules and estimate worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment.
  • Explain company policies to employees and assure compliance to EHS responsibilities.
  • Conduct employee training, practice incident prevention techniques, facilitate between Managers, EHS resources, employees and conduct self-inspections with verification regarding compliance.
  • Explain specifications, and job orders to workers, and assign duties.
  • Establish or adjust work procedures to meet production schedules.
  • Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
  • Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew.
  • Analyze and resolve work problems or assist workers in solving work problems.
  • Initiate or suggest plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
  • Maintain time and production records.
  • Estimate, provide requisitions for, and inspect materials.
  • Confer with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.
  • Establish project plans and coordinate activities for continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Make recommendations for employee status (hiring / terminations and promotions of employees).
  • Resolve grievances and employee relations issues as they arise.
  • Complete performance evaluations on his/her employees as required.
  • Administer employee corrective action for his/her employees.
  • Responsible for training and mentoring team leaders for their individual development.
  • Comply with all company attendance policies and guidelines; this includes, but is not limited to, regular attendance and occasional overtime.
  • Maintain measurement/metrics for departmental performance.
  • Other duties as assigned.
