About The Position

MacLean Power Systems (MPS) in Mankato is a leader in the metal casting industry, guided by our True North Operating Principles. We are committed to exceeding customer expectations through AGILITY. As we prepare to celebrate 150 years of manufacturing excellence, we are seeking a 2nd Shift leader to drive success in our Finishing and Machining Department. As a 2nd Shift Production Supervisor (2:00 PM – 10:00 PM), you will lead a dedicated team of 15–20. This is an exempt leadership role with a salary range of $70,000–$85,000, offering the opportunity to master new technologies and mentor the next generation of manufacturing talent.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years in manufacturing/production operations with a solid grasp of Lean Manufacturing.
  • At least 2 years of experience leading crews. We value leaders who can resolve issues professionally and sustain positive change.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to understand complex machining processes.
  • A professional approach to resolving employee issues, a high degree of Emotional Intelligence, and the ability to lead and sustain change.
  • High School Diploma/GED required
  • Must pass pre-employment assessment, physical, drug screen, and background check.
  • Ability to meet physical demands (standing/walking on the production floor) in a foundry/machining environment.

Responsibilities

  • Actively promote and ensure a "Safety First" environment, ensuring all team members return home safely every day.
  • Plan, direct, and coach your team. You will be responsible for hiring, performance management, and fostering an engaged, productive workforce.
  • Provide consistent training for new hires and ongoing refresher training using established SOPs and SME collaboration.
  • Develop and execute production plans to optimize equipment and workflow. Lead troubleshooting efforts and investigate equipment failures to minimize downtime.
  • Utilize Lean Manufacturing principles to optimize setup times, changeovers, and operational cycles.
  • Ensure all work meets our rigorous quality standards and coordinate with the maintenance team to keep equipment in peak condition.
