About The Position

Crestline Coach Ltd. is seeking an energetic & professional individual to add to our Production Team as Production Supervisor. As a Production Supervisor, you will be able to support daily manufacturing throughput and output. You will assist the Production Manager with managing Production staff and to meet or exceed manufacturing, safety, and quality goals in order to improve profitability. Ensure the Production staff stay focused on customer satisfaction, zero defects, on-time delivery and cost reduction objectives. Work collaboratively with Supply Chain and Engineering to problem-solve Production related issues to minimize rework. Assist the Production Manager with executing Lean Manufacturing processes with a focus on standardized work, material flow, kanban and scrap reduction initiatives. Assist the Production Manager with cost and process improvements. Assist the Production Manager to ensure that all Kaizen events are planned well in advance and all pre-work is completed to set the teams up for success. Ensure that all production centers and/or key handoff points have Hour-by-Hour boards and Quality boards as appropriate. Ensure that only quality parts pass from one workstation to the next without exception. Lead, measure and monitor continuous improvement activities in each area of Production with a view to improve profitability. Conduct 5S Audits, post results visually, educate and mentor Team Leads to continuously improve 5S scores. Measure, monitor, improve, and control tactical measurements from each production area such as quality measures, productivity measures, 5S scores, safety records, on-time delivery measures, etc. to improve profitability. Ensure the Hour by Hour charts are maintained and are used for daily problem solving and reducing actual hours. Participate in Point Kaizens. Lead and coach Production employees through the daily audits and through subsequent problem solving sessions that may be necessary following such audits, in order to make them successful, while driving the company’s short and long-term objectives. Lead assigned areas of Production with full accountability for day-to-day performance, staffing effectiveness, and issue resolution during the assigned shift. Lead continuous improvement initiatives as directed by the Production Manager. Collaborate with the Lean & Quality Manager to schedule all Production related point Kaizen events to improve profitability. Work with the Lean & Quality Manager to ensure the safety of personnel. Comply with all federal and provincial safety standards, guidelines and policies by driving workforce initiatives such as our health & safety system towards a Mission Zero incident safety culture. Act as the primary escalation point on shift for safety incidents, ensuring timely communication, investigation support, and corrective action. Work with the Team Leads to ensure the Skills Matrix charts are kept up to date. Identify training needs through the Skills Matrix charts to minimize the gap between available and needed skills, and to ensure employees are trained accordingly. Provide tools and safety equipment training and orientation to new Production staff. Ensure Production employees understand Crestline’s Vision and Mission statements and follow the highest level of ethical standards, values, and quality policies as outlined in those statements. Coordinate cross training efforts between the various Production teams as the production schedule allows. Support the Production Manager as needed with various projects to support the lean and quality objectives and improve profitability. Provide backup support to the Production Manager as needed. Support training and development within the department. Inspire teamwork; share vision; reward and recognize team as appropriate; and facilitate change that aligns with the company’s direction and goals. Lead the development of a sense of urgency and a strong problem-solving culture among all Production employees by leading through example. Represent the company at industry and community events as required. Provide regular performance feedback, conduct one-on-one discussions, and complete performance evaluations for Team Leads and assigned staff. Participate in hiring decisions and provide input and recommendations related to employee performance management, including discipline and terminations, as required. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Proven track record in leading Production in an engineering organization for a minimum of 5-10 years, including a minimum of 2 years in a Lean manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, set priorities, identify and address problems, and meet deadlines
