About The Position

Responsible for all mixing, baking, forming and packaging activities as required to safely produce quality products with the most efficient use of labor and materials on the appropriate/scheduled shifts and lines. This role involves supervising a team of employees, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards, and managing production operations to meet efficiency and cost targets.

Requirements

  • Strong self-confidence and leadership skills.
  • Basic mechanical skills.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise assigned team of employees (20-80 employees/shift) and directly supervise non-supervisory (lead) employees.
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable federal, state and local laws, including interviewing, hiring, training, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, and resolving issues.
  • Ensure adherence to SQF and GMP policies and procedures, SAP processes, OSHA/MiOSHA regulations, Maker’s Pride HPS/LEAN tools, and Microsoft Office.
  • Actively participate in the assigned HSMS team and identify/address unsafe behaviors and environments.
  • Ensure lock out tag Zero tolerance is followed.
  • Direct the conversion of raw materials to finished products with minimum waste and labor cost.
  • Control raw material formula consistency and monitor proper inventory rotation of raw materials and packaging.
  • Maintain a 5S environment.
  • Schedule, maintain, and approve production employee’s work hours, and investigate scheduling and/or payroll-related issues.
  • Ensure compliance with customer service and Company standards.
  • Review production orders and schedules to plan operations, establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products.
  • Review production and operating reports and resolve operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
  • Inspect machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization.
  • Resolve employee complaints or submit unsettled complaints to the Human Resources Manager.
  • Handle all disciplinary actions and employee disputes.
  • Train, develop, and evaluate all employees to meet future needs.
  • Attend meetings and make presentations as needed.
  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) at all times.
  • Comply with all safety, health, and environmental regulations.
  • Comply with all Company rules, regulations, and policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
