TITLE: Production Supervisor LOCATION: Avon, Ohio COMP RANGE: $ 51,000 – $68,000 / year Custom Culinary®, a subsidiary of Griffith Foods, is hiring a Production Supervisor to drive safe, efficient, and high‑quality food production by leading daily shift operations with a strong floor presence, ensuring seamless coordination across production, processing, and sanitation teams. This role empowers employees through clear direction, coaching, and performance management while maintaining the standards that keep the plant running safely, compliantly, and at peak productivity. This role serves as the Production Supervisor for the second shift front-line operators. Leading the frontline teams in producing safe, high‑quality food that nourishes communities while advancing the company’s commitment to People, Planet, and Performance.

Requirements

  • You have experience in food production operations and a strong understanding of GMPs, safety practices, and regulatory requirements.
  • You’re a natural leader who can coach, motivate, and hold team members accountable while maintaining a positive, collaborative work environment.
  • You excel at real-time problem-solving and can troubleshoot issues directly on the production floor to keep operations running smoothly.
  • You work well cross‑functionally and can partner effectively with HR, Quality, Maintenance, and Operations leadership.
  • You’re comfortable using (or quickly learning) systems such as FIIX, DAX, Workday, and the Alchemy training platform.
  • You’re willing to be hands‑on and assist with line tasks or mechanical support when needed to keep production on track.
  • High School Diploma
  • 5+ years of production operations experience
  • At least 3 years of supervisory or manufacturing leadership experience, leading direct reports.
  • Working knowledge of GMPs, food safety regulations, and sanitation standards.
  • Proven ability to foster teamwork, resolve employee concerns, and maintain a positive work environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft products (Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, and Powerpoint)
  • Familiarity with production processes, including sanitation, changeovers, MSS tasks, and batch flow.
  • Proficiency with systems such as FIIX, DAX, Workday, and the Alchemy training platform (or the ability to learn quickly).
  • Ability to read and interpret written instructions, SOPs, and technical documents.
  • Candidates must currently possess unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.

Nice To Haves

  • A proven track record of leading high‑performing production teams, with measurable improvements in safety, quality, or efficiency.
  • Food manufacturing experience with liquid processes.
  • Proven experience in RCA (Root Cause Analysis), sanitation oversight, and continuous improvement project work experience.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing

Responsibilities

  • Lead, develop, and coach production employees through hiring, training, performance management, and consistent enforcement of safety, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), and company policies.
  • Oversee daily production execution by coordinating labor/staff, managing workflows, monitoring productivity and changeovers, and maintaining a strong floor presence to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant operations.
  • Ensure food safety, quality, and regulatory standards are met by conducting floor walkthroughs, partnering with Quality, supporting sanitation, and participating in RCA (Root Cause Analysis) investigations.
  • Collaborate across functions, including Maintenance, Engineering, Quality, and HR; to resolve equipment issues, support preventive maintenance, manage timekeeping and staffing, and maintain clear communication across shifts.
  • Drive continuous improvement and cost‑saving initiatives by supporting production activities, participating in Kaizen events, maintaining supply readiness, and contributing to plant projects and safety programs.
