About The Position

Directs and oversees all activities in assigned departments. Ensures the departments operate in a safe, efficient and economic manner.

Requirements

  • 3 years of experience working in a machining / manufacturing environment
  • 2 years of experience supervising personnel
  • High analytical ability, good judgment, and strong operational focus
  • Flexible, energetic, forward-thinking, and creative with high moral and ethical standards
  • Well organized and self-directed
  • Able to relate to people at all levels of the organization in a positive fashion
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Working knowledge of computer applications including MS Office, ERP systems, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Direct, plan, and coordinate the production activities to achieve cost, schedule and quality metrics
  • Utilize ERP system to effectively execute the production schedule
  • Thoroughly understand and adhere to production goals, objectives, and strategies
  • Reviews production and operating reports and resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimal costs and prevent operational delays
  • Participates in operational meetings, recommending any necessary changes or optimizations that align with production goals, objectives and strategies
  • Responsible for the selection, performance, and optimal utilization of personnel by mentoring and providing educational opportunities and administering the employee evaluation program
  • Responsible for the enforcement of discipline and the establishment of positive morale amongst employees within scope of responsibility
  • Act as a technical resource to address production issues and resolve any inquires; assist employees with solving production related issues
  • Maintain time and attendance records for direct reports within scope of responsibility
  • Ensures the safety of employees by recognizing hazards and is an active participant in safety issue resolution
  • Maintain records of departmental activities as required and analyze data to support issue resolution or process improvement
  • Knowledgeable in all aspects of assigned departments. Must be proficient with specific equipment and manufacturing processes being utilized in assigned departments
  • Establish and maintain credibility throughout the organization as an effective leader of personnel and developer of solutions
  • Achieve departmental financial objectives through understanding and scheduling expenses, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions if necessary
