About The Position

This position encompasses the staffing, supervision, direction, training, and evaluation of an assigned production team. The Production Supervisor directs and controls multiple production operations and is responsible for the 3rd Shift only (evenings).

Responsibilities

  • Safely ensure all phases of manufacturing are performed efficiently and effectively.
  • Identify and solve issues or problems with equipment or personnel.
  • Recommend and drive formula improvements, equipment, and engineering revisions.
  • Maintain open lines of communication with Supply Chain Planning, Quality/Lab, Maintenance, and Warehouse support groups to ensure production schedules are met.
  • Coordinate publishing of process condition set up sheets, updating these conditions, and maintaining the process conditions database.
  • Produce all shop floor paperwork as required for process order production.
  • Coordinate and administer all aspects of training for new hires and long-term associates.
  • Comply with and enforce all company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure consistent and maximum throughput while maintaining acceptable quality control.
  • Ensure efficient use of staffing through effective planning of vacation schedules and arranging required coverage.
  • Ensure product loss and scrap production are kept to a minimum.
  • Administer performance appraisals of production associates.
  • Establish, communicate, and provide timely feedback to the assigned workforce on objectives, goals, and expectations.
  • Ensure complete and accurate information is entered into SAP in a timely manner.
  • Ensure production supply inventories are maintained and notify appropriate purchasing associates when items need to be restocked.
  • Review and correct information in E-Time for time-keeping of production associates’ hours.
  • Ensure attendance issues are reported and handled in accordance with the attendance policy.
  • Coordinate with other Production Supervisors to provide seamless shift turnover and appropriate staffing.
  • Ensure plant production area housekeeping is maintained in “Tour Ready” conditions at all times in accordance with housekeeping guidelines.
  • Perform other projects/duties as assigned.
