About The Position

The Production Supervisor will be responsible for all functions at our industrial food waste processing facility in Longview, WA. Key responsibilities for this position include maintaining a productive culture based on respect, managing accountability to standard work processes, hands-on leadership with daily operations and maintenance tasks, and effective communication within the facility and the company. Shift available: Nights, 2/2/3, 6 pm to 6:30 am. This position is a safety-sensitive position and requires a clear mind and diligence. The employee has the responsibility for his/her safety as well as the safety of others.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma or equivalent
  • 3+ years in an operations management role with hiring and people management
  • Proven track record of leading production/processing systems
  • Possess the ability to work with ambiguity by asking thoughtful questions that provide data that is then analyzed and synthesized to make balanced assessments and smart decisions
  • Mechanical aptitude and problem solving skills
  • Familiarity with operating machinery and hand tools
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, diagrams and instructions
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and record keeping

Responsibilities

  • Directly manage, hire and train Operators and Maintenance personnel; provide guidance and performance feedback
  • Oversee shift-to-shift operations of the plant, including production scheduling, workflow coordination, and resource allocation
  • Monitor production processes to identify areas for improvement and implement efficiency-enhancing measures
  • Operate production machinery and equipment according to established procedures and safety guidelines
  • Conduct regular inspections and routine maintenance to assess equipment condition, facility cleanliness, and ensure optimal performance
  • Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and coordinate maintenance activities to minimize downtime
  • Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures to ensure a secure working environment for all employees
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as maintenance, engineering, and logistics, to optimize plant performance and meet production targets
  • Maintain accurate production records and documentation
  • Maintain inventory levels and coordinate material procurement to support production
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and company policies at all times
  • Prepare reports on plant performance, including production metrics, quality control data, and safety incidents
