The Production Supervisor I role is to manage production line employees, ensure their safety and the production of a quality product that meets or exceeds company standards, while managing cost effectiveness.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of supervisory experience in manufacturing or related field required.
  • OSHA and production standards experience.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail, organization, prioritization, problem solving and communication skills.
  • Computer proficiency.
  • Numerical aptitude.
  • Accounting and P&L spreadsheet experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Associate’s Degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises, motivates, and provides ongoing direction to production line personnel.
  • Provides corrective action to enforce all policies and procedures and ensure safety.
  • Relieves employees when necessary.
  • Shuts down production line when necessary.
  • Prepares start-up procedures, properly sets-up equipment, checks production schedule, sets production codes, examines product for daily run, schedules employee hours/breaks and ensures workstation assignments are ready to run on time.
  • Ensures proper raw materials are in line for product to be run.
  • Supervises flavor changes and hook-ups for correct flavor changes; changes tanks, switches lines and codes; monitors quality control of water and temperatures.
  • Monitors machinery to ensure proper operation, takes and records hourly meter readings, logs down time and defective raw materials.
  • Learns proper operation of all production line equipment and the forklift.
  • Communicates with previous shift superintendent regarding status of production lines.
  • Consults with Maintenance Mechanics and Quality Control Department regarding issues.
  • Other duties as assigned.
