About The Position

The Production Supervisor (2nd Shift, 2:30pm - 10:30pm CST) will be responsible for all of the following during their shift: Safety, production, quality, employee’s effectivity, and leading their department’s scheduling. This role involves ensuring effective employee relations, providing employee mentorship and development, making employment decisions, and resolving employee issues through problem resolution and working with union representation. The supervisor will ensure schedule alignment, meaning department employees are present at the beginning of each shift and in work areas, and that manning is in agreement with the scheduled priority. The role requires balancing quality, effectivity, cost, safety, and morale to achieve positive results in all areas, and working towards Continuous Improvement. Supervision includes employee development, training, procedural and JSA alignment, and performing investigations for safety incidents such as near misses, first aides, and OSHA issues, recommending actions to prevent reoccurrences. Coordination with Human Resources and the operations manager for any required disciplinary actions is also a key responsibility. The role requires spending 75% of the shift on the production floor in the assigned department.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • Previous leadership or Supervisor role in manufacturing environment
