About The Position

The Production Supervisor manages, directs, and coordinates activities for a production shift to maximize productivity and minimize costs while maintaining quality. The role typically supervises more than 40 employees and coordinates with the Scheduler to meet daily production requirements. It also carries out employee-management responsibilities, supports quality initiatives, ensures production data is accurately reported, and oversees the effective implementation and review of safety programs.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of manufacturing experience.
• Good verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work well in group situations.
• Ability to deal with conflict in a mature and consistent manner.
• Good computer skills.

Nice To Haves

• BA/BS degree, preferably in business or engineering.
• Supervisory experience.
• SAP experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage, direct, and coordinate production-shift activities to maximize productivity and minimize cost while maintaining quality.
• Typically supervise more than 40 employees.
• Coordinate with the Scheduler to ensure daily production requirements are achieved.
• Interview, hire, and train employees.
• Plan, assign, and direct work.
• Appraise employee performance.
• Reward and discipline employees.
• Address complaints and resolve problems.
• Ensure production data is gathered and reported correctly each day.
• Support and improve quality initiatives designed to meet plant goals.
• Ensure safety programs are implemented effectively, reviewed regularly, and revised as necessary.
