About The Position

This position is a supervisory role, responsible for the safe production of coal and the installation and movement of equipment and machinery that supports coal production.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age
• Certification by Pennsylvania as one of the following: Mine Examiner, Assistant Mine Foreman, or as a Mine Foreman for underground Bituminous Coal Mines
• Pennsylvania Experienced Miner Certificate
• Must be available to work overtime, weekends and holidays as schedule requires
• Must be able to work as scheduled and arrive to the worksite promptly to receive work assignment and prepare for the start of the shift
• Must be able to work a shift rotation
• Must be able to work safely and effectively as part of a team or independently
• Must be able to perform heavy work as defined by the Dictionary of Occupational Titles which may include but not limited to lift, carry, pull/push, climb, shovel, walk, or pry
• Must be able to work on/near moving equipment as required by job

Responsibilities

• Ensure the company's "Absolute ZERO" safety culture is embedded in all work performed
• Safely, effectively, and efficiently work and respond to changing conditions within the mine
• Safely operate underground mining equipment
• Supervise sections that may include longwall, continuous miner, construction, belt and/or out-by work
• Provide supervision for de-gas activities
• Perform key supervisory responsibilities such as goal setting, planning, training and performance evaluation
• Communicate changes and company policies and procedures to employees
• Coordinate and communicate with engineering, maintenance and other departments or shifts as needed to maintain an efficient and safe operation
• Perform the duties of other production, operations or shift foreman due to absence
• Ensure that body mechanics, equipment, and tools are utilized in a safe and responsible manner
• Responsible for the safe and efficient production of coal and/or assistance in the production of coal in general work areas
• Be reliable, responsible, and dependable, and fulfill obligations
• Comply with company policies, federal and state laws, and regulatory standards
