The Production Supervisor provides leadership and training to accomplish production objectives for all employees, focusing on Safety, Quality, Production, Packaging, and Maintenance. This role coordinates production activities with other departments to ensure goals are met efficiently and cost-effectively. The supervisor acts as the first point of contact for operators facing mechanical failures or production issues, and works with the operations team to cover any planned or unplanned vacancies. They also collaborate with Human Resources on attendance and employee relations matters, including preparing and reviewing employee work hours for payroll. The supervisor establishes and monitors shift performance against safety, quality, and production standards, and accurately enters production data to track KPIs. They are responsible for updating communication boards, leading employee start-up meetings, and addressing employee questions and concerns. Additionally, the role involves counseling employees to achieve desired performance levels, working with team members to control and improve efficiencies, minimize labor overtime, downtime, and repair expenses, and implementing cost-effective systems. Promoting shop floor organization and plant housekeeping through lean techniques like 6S is also a key responsibility. The supervisor orders production supplies and may conduct tool store inventory reviews. Other duties as assigned.
