About The Position

The Production Supervisor is responsible for directing the manufacturing operations performed in a shift or group of production lines, ensuring they reach volume, quality and cost goals. You will lead a team of manufacturing associates in a cleanroom or controlled environment, ensuring the production of high-quality medical devices. You will be responsible for fostering a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement while applying Lean Manufacturing principles to drive operational excellence.

Requirements

  • Technical Diploma (± 12 years)
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in a regulated manufacturing environment (medical device or pharmaceutical preferred).
  • 1–2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Knowledge of: FDA regulations, ISO 13485, and GMP.
  • Knowledge of: Lean Manufacturing principles and tools.
  • Knowledge of: Cleanroom operations and contamination control.
  • Strong leadership and team-building capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Analytical mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, operations, life sciences, or a related field.
  • Certifications: Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher.

Responsibilities

  • Controls production activities, material flow, and inventory to achieve cost and quality targets and production schedules of the assigned production line(s).
  • Ensures compliance of standards.
  • Responsible for the management and supervision of the assigned production line(s).
  • Lead a team comprising individual professional (e.g., engineers/officers) to meet quality, cost, delivery and responsiveness requirements.
  • Supervise day-to-day operations on the manufacturing floor, ensuring safety, quality, and productivity targets are met.
  • Champion Abbott’s cultural values by promoting a positive, inclusive, and high-performance work environment.
  • Lead and coach team members in Lean tools such as 5S, Standard Work, Visual Management, and Root Cause Analysis.
  • Identify and eliminate waste through continuous improvement initiatives and kaizen events.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective actions to improve efficiency and reduce variability.
  • Ensure compliance with FDA regulations, ISO 13485, and internal quality standards.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Quality, Engineering, and Supply Chain to resolve issues and support new product introductions.
  • Conduct performance reviews, provide feedback, and support employee development and training.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and support audits and inspections.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities in the areas of lean systems and Tier meetings, to the point where they become a training resource for other areas within the building.
  • Able to teach others how their teams performance ties to the financial outcomes monthly and ability to support the financial planning process.
  • Ability to identify opportunities within the financial outcomes that are within their control and propose cost improvement projects.
