About The Position

Sun Orchard is seeking an experienced Production Supervisor to oversee production plans, including blending, pasteurization, bottling, and packaging. The role involves meeting product specifications, quality standards, yield, and efficiency targets while fostering motivated and effective teams. The Production Supervisor will be responsible for developing and communicating shift strategies, monitoring progress, identifying constraints, and collaborating with various departments to ensure smooth operations. This position also focuses on leading continuous improvement initiatives, maintaining process documentation, and ensuring team members are up-to-date on safety and quality training. The supervisor will directly lead employees in the Production Department, handling responsibilities such as interviewing, hiring, training, performance appraisal, and problem resolution in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Food or beverage production experience in a leadership role required.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Foreign language skills, particularly Spanish, required.
  • Reasoning: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Knowledge of Word Processing software.
  • Knowledge of Spreadsheet software.
  • Knowledge of Manufacturing software.
  • General email writing and online research skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and communicate bottling and blending strategies for the shift based on the production plan.
  • Assign duties and schedule tasks through Team Leaders.
  • Continuously monitor bottling and blending progress against the plan.
  • Identify production constraints and agree on action plans with Team Leaders and support functions.
  • Communicate regularly with Receiving, Maintenance, Planning, and QA to align corrective actions and strategies.
  • Develop Team Members to build competent and motivated teams.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives in bottling and blending.
  • Maintain up-to-date process documentation.
  • Participate in developing and reviewing SOPs, including daily training in pre-shift meetings.
  • Perform daily review and approval of the employee time and attendance system.
  • Lead process improvement efforts for the production operation.
  • Maintain safety and quality related training for all team members and document it.
  • Identify additional training requirements and arrange for training.
  • Ensure employees follow all company policies and procedures, including GMPs, Safety, and Quality requirements.
  • Maintain GMP and sanitation standards in areas of accountability.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures regarding GMPs, SOPs, and Quality standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or required.
  • Directly lead employees in the Production Department.
  • Conduct interviewing, hiring, terminating, and training of employees.
  • Plan, assign, and direct work.
  • Appraise performance, reward, and discipline employees.
  • Address complaints and resolve problems.
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
