About The Position

The Production Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of assigned employees, ensuring compliance with quality standards, customer specifications, and company policies. This role involves understanding and managing schedules and production to meet customer demands, administering personnel functions for the department (including interviewing, selection, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions), and focusing on employee development. The supervisor is accountable for all processes, equipment, employees, safety, and housekeeping within their area. They must maintain thorough knowledge of processes and equipment, anticipate and troubleshoot problems, coordinate with other departments for resolution, and ensure established policies and procedures are followed. Additionally, this role involves coordinating production efforts with supervisors on other shifts, ensuring equipment is operational and maintained, and championing lean measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and product quality. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Minimum of 5 years working in a manufacturing environment
3+ years’ experience in supervisory capacity
Excellent leadership and team skills required. Able to effectively interface at all levels of the organization
Knowledge of processes and machines related to products manufactured within a given business unit
Strong verbal and written communication skills required
Excellent interpersonal skills and team player approach
Computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access required

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration or another related field highly preferred.

Responsibilities

Supervise assigned employees and ensure compliance with quality standards, customer specifications, and company policies.
Understand and manage schedules and production to meet customer schedules.
Administer personnel functions for the department, including interviewing, selection, performance evaluations, and disciplinary action, with a focus on employee development.
Oversee all processes, equipment, employees, safety, and housekeeping.
Maintain thorough knowledge of all processes and equipment or know who to contact for information.
Anticipate and troubleshoot problems with jobs and/or equipment and coordinate with other departments for resolution.
Ensure that established policies, rules, regulations, and procedures are followed.
Coordinate production efforts with supervisors on other shifts for smooth transition.
Ensure that all equipment is operational and maintained per specifications.
Screen, interview, select, and onboard new hires, conduct performance appraisals, coach and counsel employees.
Champion BES/lean measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
Perform other duties as assigned.
