About The Position

Responsible for the supervision of assigned employees and ensures compliance with all quality standards, customer specifications, and company policies. This role involves understanding and managing schedules and production to meet customer demands, administering personnel functions for the department (including interviewing, selection, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions), and focusing on employee development. The Production Supervisor is accountable for all processes, equipment, employees, safety, and housekeeping within their area. They must maintain thorough knowledge of all processes and equipment or know who to contact for information, anticipate and troubleshoot problems, and coordinate with other departments for resolution. This role also ensures adherence to established policies and procedures, coordinates production efforts with supervisors on other shifts for smooth transitions, and ensures equipment is operational and maintained per specifications. Key duties include screening, interviewing, selecting, and onboarding new hires, conducting performance appraisals, and coaching/counseling employees. The supervisor will also champion BES/lean measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and product quality. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years working in a manufacturing environment
  • 3+ years’ experience in a supervisory capacity
  • Excellent leadership and team skills required.
  • Able to effectively interface at all levels of the organization
  • Knowledge of processes and machines related to products manufactured within a given business unit
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and team player approach
  • Computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access required
  • High School Diploma or GED required.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration or another related field highly preferred.
