About The Position

The Production Supervisor is responsible for leading by example in modeling safety behaviors and ensuring employee compliance with EHS policies. This role involves direct supervision of processing personnel, including material handling laborers, warehouse specialists, shipping packers, and clamp truck operators. The supervisor will assign duties, ensure production schedules are met, and promote a team environment through cross-training. Key responsibilities include verifying product identification, troubleshooting potential problems, assisting with equipment operation and maintenance, and communicating company policies and safety guidelines to employees. The role also involves managing personnel issues such as disciplinary actions, promotions, and evaluations, and ensuring product processing meets contractual requirements and customer satisfaction goals.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience.
  • Four years supervisory experience or four years’ experience in a production or warehouse environment.
  • Computer proficiency required (MS Office preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Lead by example in modeling safety behaviors and attitude.
  • Ensure employees comply with EHS policies and requirements by visually verifying compliance and immediately engaging non-compliant employees.
  • Participate in injury management, incident investigation, cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.
  • Recognize employees for their work contributions regularly.
  • Provide direct supervision for processing personnel (material handling laborers, warehouse specialists, shipping packers, clamp truck operators).
  • Assign duties for personnel in each processing function and ensure fulfillment of production schedules.
  • Ensure all employees can perform efficiently in all processing functions through cross-training and promoting a team environment.
  • Ensure the continual flow of products into various departments.
  • Verify that all products are identified correctly by type, quantity, and lot number.
  • Troubleshoot and forward any potential problems within the plant to the Plant Manager.
  • Assist with proper operation and maintenance of all production equipment.
  • Review all safety guidelines, workplace safety policies, and OSHA requirements with personnel.
  • Initiate and assist with personnel issues, including disciplinary actions, promotions, evaluations, and interviews.
  • Evaluate and monitor the performance of processing personnel.
  • Ensure product is processed in accordance with contractual requirements.
  • Understand and implement established departmental goals and objectives to maximize customer satisfaction.
  • Generate and prepare prescribed reports for management that detail department goals and objectives.
  • Communicate customer requirements, company policies and procedures, ethics philosophy, EEO/AA, safety guidelines and OSHA requirements to employees, and require compliance.
  • Confer with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments to maximize overall flow and increase productivity.
