About The Position

The Production Supervisor plays a critical role in delivering safe, high‑quality manufacturing output by leading and developing a large production team during a designated shift. This role is responsible for driving performance across safety, quality, and operational metrics while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. By effectively managing people, processes, and equipment, the Production Supervisor ensures production targets are met while maintaining compliance with HSE and quality standards.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma (required).
  • 3–5 years of experience in a production or manufacturing supervisory role.
  • In‑depth knowledge of manufacturing processes and production variables affecting quality.
  • Strong understanding of equipment maintenance requirements.
  • Proven ability to lead teams and drive results through others.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and manage a diverse team of Operators to achieve business and production objectives.
  • Build a culture of accountability, collaboration, and safety across the production floor.
  • Communicate priorities, expectations, and updates through daily DMP meetings, bi‑weekly town halls, and one‑on‑one follow‑ups.
  • Support employee development through coaching, performance feedback, and formal evaluations.
  • Address employee relations matters, including conflict resolution and disciplinary actions.
  • Provide input into hiring, promotions, and termination decisions, including preparation of promotion documentation.
  • Manage shift priorities, performance measures, and provide regular progress updates to the Production Manager.
  • Oversee time and attendance accuracy by reviewing, approving, and signing off on timecards each pay period.
  • Conduct monthly meetings with Operators to align on goals, KPIs, and production demands.
  • Oversee daily production activities through strong understanding of manufacturing procedures, processes, equipment, and products.
  • Balance and report on quality, productivity, cost, safety, and morale to achieve consistent operational results.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with fellow managers, Quality Control, and external inspection personnel.
  • Prepare and present monthly MPR slides to communicate team performance metrics.
  • Ensure accurate and complete collection of production data and documentation.
  • Lead daily DMP meetings and weekly toolbox meetings.
  • Generate purchase requisitions for tools and consumables not covered by the Kanban system.
  • Coordinate and enroll employees in required internal and external training programs.
  • Administer and promote the Company Incident and Injury Free (IIF) safety program as part of the QHSE role.
  • Promote safe work practices, housekeeping, and 5S standards to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Participate in the Joint Health & Safety Committee.
  • Conduct active safety acknowledgment conversations to reinforce safety awareness.
  • Lead safety investigations for incidents within the supervised area and assign corrective actions.
  • Review incidents and corrective actions with teams during DMP meetings.
  • Support the safety corner and train employees on the incident reporting database.
  • Ensure products meet quality and quantity standards through compliance with technical procedures.
  • Actively promote and participate in ShawCor Manufacturing System (SMS) initiatives.
  • Lead the development and implementation of SOPs and HAA’s across the facility.
  • Support manufacturing trials for new product development and process improvements.
  • Participate in VSMs, FMEAs, and root cause analyses such as Fishbone diagrams.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and collaborate across departments to resolve them.
  • Lead continuous improvement projects with production teams.
  • Ensure equipment is maintained in a safe and efficient condition to meet production requirements.
  • Coordinate purchase of spare parts and consumables to minimize downtime.
  • Submit and follow up on maintenance requests as required.
