About The Position

US Foods is seeking a Production Supervisor to provide guidance to the RTE (Ready-to-Eat) production group to meet overall division goals while maintaining high quality standards and exceptional customer service. This role partners with the Production Manager and FSQA manager to provide direction for Operation activities and ensures department objectives are achieved per plan. The incumbent is required to provide direct supervision for Production associates.

Requirements

  • 2 years of experience managing/leading an hourly workforce required.
  • 2 years of food production experience (meat, poultry or seafood) required.
  • Ability to prioritize activities in a multi-tasked environment required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor oven and cool down temperatures to ensure all RTE product is cooked per recipe and food safety critical control points are met and adjust as necessary.
  • Complete daily record review on RTE product to ensure products are within manufacturing specifications per recipe.
  • Complete daily record review of other departments as assigned by FSQA manager.
  • Work with Food Safety & Quality Assurance to maintain good manufacturing practices, meet HACCP and OSHA requirements and maintain all USDA standards.
  • Support the internal quality audit function for the site and ensure effectiveness of the corrective and preventative action process within the framework of the plant's Quality Management System.
  • Support the FSQA Site leader responsible for on-site product risk assessment and risk management plan.
  • Help to report and drive continuous improvement: in sanitation, food safety, quality, and preventative maintenance.
  • Support the FSQA Manager to ensure regulatory compliance with USDA, FDA, State and local authorities and act as division’s primary liaison with these agencies.
  • Actively participate in accident or injury incidents, including near misses.
  • Supports strategic business needs within the plant to drive operations knowledge and improvements.
  • As requested, provide food safety training and/or resources to ensure employees know how to handle food safely and attend trainings.
  • Comply with food safety practices and all applicable requirements as they pertain to SQF and that are maintained.
  • Ensure employees are informed and held accountable for their food safety and regulatory responsibilities.
  • Ensure employees are positively encouraged and required to notify management about actual or potential food safety issues.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts.
  • Performs other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
