Requirements

Two to four years of related experience or equivalent.
Knowledge of production practices and procedures.
Demonstrated proficiency in supervising and motivating subordinates.

Responsibilities

Supervises production line set-up, including testing and adjusting equipment before operation and ensuring on-schedule starts.
Oversees all production activities performed by employees, maintaining high visibility and accessibility throughout the shift.
Establishes and maintains department standards for productivity, reliability, and accuracy.
Monitors and reports daily production results, material usage, waste, and downtime.
Reports equipment problems to the appropriate department and production manager.
Coordinates with quality control to maintain quality standards and implements corrective actions for deficiencies.
Forecasts staffing needs for peak demands, staffs the team accordingly, and trains, motivates, coaches, rewards, and disciplines employees.
Resolves personnel issues and coordinates with the production manager on matters such as vacation approvals, timecard approval, overtime, hiring, and training.
Performs administrative tasks, prepares reports, and correspondence.
Assists the production manager with policy and procedure development and implementation, ensuring employee adherence.
Inspects equipment and facilities for proper sanitation and takes corrective action for deficiencies.
Resolves production-related issues with representatives from other departments.
Maintains a working knowledge of all operating systems relevant to the work area.
Maintains safety programs and ensures all required safety training for employees is completed.
Performs other duties as assigned by the manager.
