About The Position

The Production Supervisor provides leadership and performance accountability for shift teams, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality production operations. This role indirectly leads 25 hourly employees engaged in film casting and slitting processes, with responsibility for employee development, operational performance, and compliance with company policies and applicable laws. The Supervisor leads by example, maintaining the highest standards of environmental, health and safety (EH&S), ethics, operational discipline, and respect for employees.

Requirements

  • Ability to work day shift (5:30AM to 5:30PM).
  • Requires 2 weekends a month.
  • Must have flexibility to cover night shift as needed (vacation relief).
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing or industrial operations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build trust, develop employees, drive accountability, and foster teamwork.
  • Ability to make sound decisions, adapt to changing priorities, and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Chemical manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Experience leading teams in a manufacturing or production environment a plus.
  • SAP preferred.
  • Experience supporting workplace safety programs and initiatives preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day production activities to meet safety, quality, productivity, and efficiency goals.
  • Lead, coach, develop, and evaluate hourly employees.
  • Plan, assign, and direct daily work activities and staffing resources.
  • Provide ongoing coaching and feedback.
  • Support onboarding, training, mentoring, and workforce development initiatives.
  • Ensure consistent administration of company policies and HR practices.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with EH&S, PSM, LTCT, DNT, and company standards.
  • Lead hazard identification, risk assessments, incident investigations, and corrective actions.
  • Coordinate site emergency response activities, including evacuations and incident support.
  • Ensure adherence to operating procedures, safety rules, housekeeping, clean room requirements, and quality standards.
  • Monitor and optimize asset performance, uptime, and operational reliability.
  • Verify execution of operational plans and compliance with standard operating procedures.
  • Troubleshoot production and quality issues, escalating technical concerns as needed.
  • Drive continuous improvement through employee engagement and problem-solving initiatives.
  • Analyze process variation and customer complaints to identify root causes and implement solutions.
  • Provide regular communication onsite and production performance to Area Leader.
  • Maintain accurate personnel, training, production, and compliance records.
  • Approve training completion and ensure workforce qualifications are current.
  • Utilize SAP, ADP eTime, Microsoft Office, and quality management systems to support operations and reporting.
