The Production Supervisor is responsible for planning, organizing, and controlling production to ensure efficient, timely, and budget-compliant output of goods that meet quality standards. This role involves directly supervising and coordinating the activities of production machine operators, managing daily production schedules, and ensuring proper inventory levels. The supervisor will oversee the day-to-day workflow of production staff, manage production operators, and handle disciplinary actions in accordance with company policy. They will collaborate with department leaders to monitor performance and recommend improvements. Key responsibilities include overseeing the production process to ensure high-quality product delivery, maintaining appropriate production rates to avoid delivery delays, and collaborating with Customer Service and sales to resolve quality concerns. The role also involves identifying and resolving production bottlenecks by ensuring the availability of necessary resources, using production planning to limit material shortages, and ensuring machinery complies with safety standards. Effective communication of potential risks, resolution of employee, customer, or contractor issues, and coordination with internal and external parties are crucial. The supervisor will prepare staff schedules, determine work assignments, and represent the organization in external relations and negotiations. They will act as a liaison between departments to improve function and performance, review and update organizational policies, and ensure Corrective Action Reports (CARs) are submitted with proper resolutions.
