About The Position

The Production Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that all PSI safety procedures, rules, and regulations are followed and met. This role involves interviewing candidates, disciplining underperformers, and providing positive reinforcement to high performers. The supervisor coordinates team activities with other teams and subcontractors, maintains a trouble-free and clean production environment, and leads their team towards efficiency and quality goals through motivation and training. They must be familiar with performance standards and industry best practices for optimal results, and are responsible for quality standards, costs, and adherence to schedule. Daily feedback on work progress, production hours, and quality results is required, along with ensuring the readiness of machines and equipment. Cooperation with the preparation team for work packages, material deliveries, and improvements is essential. The role includes performing internal inspections, presenting work results, providing daily safety instructions, and continuous checks related to HSE requirements and cleanliness. Work execution must align with valid quality standards, and flexible cooperation with employees in design, planning, and production is expected. Continuous manning tracking, progress reporting, budget control, and regular updating of production data in systems are key responsibilities. Planning and organization of needed transport, ordering supply storage material, and defining needed manpower are also part of the role, along with working according to building methodology. Other related duties may be required and assigned.

  • Supervise production workers within his/her team.
  • Successful degree of studies as mechanical engineer or naval architect is preferable with at least 3 years’ supervisory experience
  • 5 to 15 years’ professional experience: in shipyards with shipbuilding production or ship repair, in businesses with manufacturing of heavy steel structures, in the production of pressure vessels, boilers and other quality products
  • Provable welding/shipbuilding technical knowledge
  • Several years of experience in the instruction of production teams
  • Several years of experience in the use of computers
  • Experiences with modern production machines and automated production lines, as well as modern building methods
