About The Position

There is an opening for a Production Supervisor at Ellwood National Forge. This position is an exempt, full time opportunity. The Supervisor is responsible for maintaining a safe work environment by assuring plant organization and housekeeping while maintaining product flow. They will provide leadership to team members, including training, setting clear expectations, and completing annual performance evaluations. The role involves managing production work centers to maximize product throughput using manufacturing best practices and management directives, and ensuring product flow to meet production schedules and on-time delivery. The Supervisor will also assure quality and continuous improvement by troubleshooting quality issues and identifying, eliminating, and preventing obstacles to efficient product flow, quality, and efficiency. Additionally, the role is responsible for the accuracy of team member timecards using the UKG Workforce Management system, and for documentation regarding employment-related matters including hiring, promoting, disciplining, and supporting Affirmative Action efforts. The Supervisor will administer, support, and enforce safety regulations as well as policies, rules, and procedures outlined in the Team Member Handbook, and support all ENF policies, procedures, and objectives.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Understanding of shop practices, capabilities, product processing and quality requirements.
• Ability to work well with a team while also working independently.
• Strong analytical skills, Math skills and problem-solving ability.
• Solid written and verbal communication skills.
• Results oriented. Ability to organize and prioritize.
• Ability to work well with other departments.
• Familiarity with Syteline, Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Willing to work a variety of shifts to provide support for the 24 hour operations of our facilities.

Nice To Haves

• 3 – 5 or more years direct supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Prior Management/Leadership/Supervisory classes/training.
• Proficiency with reading and interpreting blueprints including GD&T tolerancing.
• Proficiency with Syteline, Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Basic understanding of the characteristics of a variety of steels.

Responsibilities
